Do you think soccer will have a good chance at taking interest away from basketball?

I think soccer has a good chance of taking interest away from basketball in America. I don't understand why Major League Soccer doesn't attack basketball. First of all, basketball requires you to be very tall to be successful at it. Why not go after young kids with a promotion that you don't have to be a giant to be a success in that sport? That way, you have more kids playing soccer, watching the games and buying the merchandise.
